In 2011, Plan A Sudbury recognized the need for a staffing solution in local long term care homes. Plan A is focused on ensuring our long term care residents are cared for and the employees of the home are supported.
Plan A fully established itself by providing local long term care partners with a compassionate and dependable back-up solution. The undeniable truth that long term care homes across the province were in need of a staffing solution rang true.
Our mission now is to provide the same care and partnerships beyond our community. Currently, Plan A is operating several locations across Ontario with the same vision and mission as our very first location – to keep our homes operating in ‘Plan A’, while keeping residents safe and staff happy.

Sheri-Ann Morin has obtained a vast variety of education and working experiences. Among her 20 plus years in the workforce, Sheri-Ann has owned 2 small businesses in Northern Ontario. She has served several years in the healthcare field working with the elderly francophone population as well as the very young and their families. Community work has always been a huge part of her life. Sheri-Ann leaves her many years as an educator with the Algoma District School Board to fulfill a new role in helping the vulnerable population of Sault Ste. Marie and District. Sheri-Ann will bring passion, energy and enthusiasm to helping others and to making a difference in her community.

For more than 10 years, Tracy Fairfield had overseen the only provincial program designed to aid in the protection of residents of Ontario’s retirement homes, which she later successfully transitioned into a fully functioning department within the Retirement Homes Regulatory Authority. Believing in a community, team based approach, Tracy has forged lasting relationships with clients, home operators, stakeholders, government agencies, and community services across the province.
As a Program Manager and Advocate for better care within the Retirement Home sector, both pre and post regulation, Tracy loaned her expertise and talents to provide creative problem solving solutions to both address and prevent the inadequate care and abuse of residents. She quickly found that concerns relating to care and abuse were often the result of insufficient staffing levels or inexperienced team members.
This understanding cemented the need to find a solution to what weighs heavily on the minds of the administration within the Long Term Care sector: how to provide the best care possible when they struggle to remain fully staffed on an ongoing basis.

Sarah began her Plan A career as an RPN New Grad in 2012. Since that time she has helped to fulfil the Plan A mission to support staffing needs in Long Term Care Homes throughout Ontario’s North. Sarah continued her work with Plan A in both PSW and RPN capacities while pursuing her Bachelors of Science in Nursing at Nipissing University, and as of 2015 has transitioned into the role of RN.
Having worked within all three designations, Sarah has an excellent sense of what it takes to be a good fit for the A-Team. Sarah understands the common ‘bumps’ that come with being an agency nurse, and strives to support staff in their role with understanding.
With her degree in Communications and Business from Wilfrid Laurier University, Rachael understands what it takes to realize this goal. Rachael particularly enjoys promotions and marketing, appreciating the opportunity to put her creativity to work for a cause she believes in!
Rachael works diligently to find A-rated health care professionals, ensuring the best possible care reaches residents. ‘Think global, act local’ is Rachael's mantra and she is eager about translating this focus into her work.
Sarah and Rachael have been active members of their community both locally and globally throughout the years. After graduating from the Business Administration – Human Resources program in 2015, Tessa began her professional career with Plan A Health Care Staffing Solutions in Sudbury working as the Recruitment Manager, where she was in charge of hiring all nurses and PSWs in Sudbury and the surrounding areas. Tessa later moved into the role of Solution Sales Specialist with Plan A’s sister company, StaffStat Inc., where she assisted in providing their automated shift-filling solution to LTC homes, community support organizations and hospitals across Ontario. After relocating with her family to a community located in the York Region in early 2018, the opportunity to open a Plan A franchise in the area presented itself and she couldn’t say no.
The experience that Tessa gained while working as a Server for many years taught her to understand how crucial adequate staffing is to a business’ value and success. After working for Plan A and StaffStat, she learned that the LTC sector and the healthcare sector as a whole was no exception to that rule. Tessa has seen first-hand the issues that arise as a result of staffing shortages and she is devoted to ensuring that all LTC homes located within the York Region are running at a full staff capacity, while receiving only the best quality care from the most compassionate and experienced health care professionals.
Being a business owner had always been a dream of Tessa’s, but when she became a mom in August of 2017, it was no longer a dream—it became a goal. Having the opportunity to continue working with the “A Team” while also having the freedom to work around her own schedule and spend more time at home with her family than she would in any other position is truly a dream come true.
